Bosch 2700ES NG Aquastar 7.2 GPM Indoor Tankless Natural Gas Water Heater

I used to heat water through my oil fired furnace. Once the 2700ES was installed, I was able to turn off my furnace all together. It is so great to not hear the furnace kick on several times a day to continuously heat water just in case we needed it.The only draw back so far is the 20 second wait for the initial delivery of the hot water and this is only a problem for hand washing. My next plan is to install a solar hot water system in series with the 2700ES to save on NG and alleviate the hand washing delay.I recommend spending the extra money on the optional Auto Reset GFCI cord so you will never have to worry about resetting the 2700ES after a power failure.I also recommend spending the extra money on the AQ3ES Vent Kit because it is designed specifically for the 2700ES and makes the installation a bit easier. The minimum spacing between the intake and exhaust is 3 feet so I placed my unit in the corner of the basement where the intake and exhaust could be on separate walls giving me maximum spacing with minimal pipe runs.If you are going to purchase one of these, I suggest checking out [...] as they seem to have the best prices and offer lightning fast free shipping on most all products. Keep an eye on their site though, they continually offer discount coupons and their prices seem to fluctuate. All in all, I am thrilled with the 2700ES and with the size of the unit, I am able to get an endless amount of hot water delivered simultaneously to as many showers/appliances as my…

Rheem MSR50245 Marathon 50 Gal. Short Electric Water Heater

37 of 38 people found the following review helpful 4.0 out of 5 starsGreat Water Heater / CHECK YOUR CHECK VALVE!!!, March 12, 2009 By R. Lewis - See all my reviews(REAL NAME)  I would have given this electric water heater 5 full stars except for one small problem. Apparently, the earlier models have a defective air check valve on the cold water input (outside/above) which leak (water). I have installed two of these: one in 2001 and the other in 2008. The 2008 installation has the new version of the check valve. It is brass, about 2" long, has air holes in the SIDES and not the end. IF YOU HAVE A MODEL THAT HAS THE OPENING/SCREEN AT THE END OF THE AIR CHECK VALVE, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU CONTACT RHEEM/MARATHON AND THEY WILL SEND YOU A REPLACEMENT OF THE NEW MODEL FOR FREE INCLUDING SHIPPING BEFORE IT BLOWS! Our 2001 air check valve failed which caused water and carpet damage. We purchased this model because it is not supposed to fail... Rheem customer service was great despite the opposite I have read on the web. This heater has a 6 year warranty on parts and the tank is lifetime. Even though the air check valve was 2 years out of warranty, they replaced it via Fed-x overnight at NO COST. I mentioned the ruined carpet to them, and they began a claim. All things considered, I am pleased with this. My plumber does not like anything with poly tanks, so I checked the web for recalls, class action lawsuits, etc., on this and found none. I am the only person I know of to mention…

Rheem RTG-84XP 8.4 GPM Outdoor Series Tankless Propane Water Heater

We have had our Rheem tankless RTG-84xp for one year and love it. The water is hot very quickly and it stays a a constance temperture during use. We use propane for the fuel and did not notice any change on the tank's level gauge during the summer, I think the fuel use is lower than the energy guide shows. The use propane use in the winter is hard to tell because we use it for the furnace also. I am glad I purchased.

Navien NR-210A Condensing Tankless Water Heater with Pump and Buffer Tank, Natural Gas

Navien NR240A installed on Dec 27 2011.The reason I puchased this product from a licensed plumbing supplier is that it is warrantied by Navien for 15 years. We'll get back to the warranty and Navien Customer Service in a minute.Exactly 16 days after the install by a licensed, bonded plumber with experience installing this model, the unit automatically shut itself off and flashed Error Code 16 (heat exchanger). Plumber came out and called Navien Tech Support Dept., who I could hear over speaker phone. Navien Cust Service was rude and condescending, but was able to determine that the 16 day old tankless water heater already needed the mother board replaced. To be fair, Navien did send me a new motherboard via overnight delivery. Now my plumber, who I researched and trust, and who has worked on the Boss' house, explained to Navien that he is a plumber, and not licensed to repair the inner workings of their product. "No problem, we have techs in the area." Well, the "tech in the area" doing business as Metropolitan Industries in Romeoville, IL made sure to explain to me that it wasn't their problem, but my and my plumber's problem, and they weren't replacing or servicing anything. "Umm, the 15-year warranty isn't between me and my plumber sir, the warranty is through and from Navien." "NO ITS NOT. YOUR PLUMBER NEEDS TO FIX IT." Then he hung up on me. The water heater is going back and I will post everywhere I can on their inferior product,…

Quietside ODW-199A Natural Gas Tankless Water Heater, 7.2 GPM

This company has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. My brand new tankless on demand water heater has been nothing but a problem from day one. My plumber has been to the house 6 times in 2 months to try to fix this thing. Quietside will not replace the unit until you try replacing all kinds of parts & prove that the unit is defective. I have to prove to them that a brand new $1500 heater doesn't work? A brand new water heater shouldn't need to have parts replaced. I called the tech support department & the supervisor hung up on me when I told him this. The product is terrible & the customer service is worse.

Rheem RTG-64XP 6.4 GPM Outdoor Series Tankless Propane Water Heater

You know how people say stuff like, "they oughta make on that" or "would'nt it be cool if".. Well, Rheem made one that does, and it IS really cool. I ordered this jem on line through Amazon, from Evolution plumbing. I screwed up and ordered a Nat gas unit vs an LP. I noticed the error one minute after I clicked the order in. I filled out the order cancellation form on line, figuring I had a mess on my hands. 15 minutes later, a real person from South Carolina called me on the phone. The guy was from Evolution Plumbing. HE ACTUALLY SPOKE ENGLISH !! In 3 minutes he had the order cancelled and the new order was placed. He and I chatted about plumbing stuff and he was quite helpful. 5 days later UPS delivered the water heater. I had a few questions so i called the number on the side of the unit, printed in bold 1 inch letters. 45 seconds later I was talking to a guy from Joisey. Im from Joisey too ! He new the machine inside and out, and HE SPEAKS ENGLISH !!!! A half hour later i called back with a few more intallation questions. I got a lady on the phone in 1 minute, and guess what ! She's from Joisey too !!! She corrected a few mistakes that I made, and the unit kicked on and has been purring like a kitten ever since. She new this unit like she was married to it !! This kind of customer service is what AMERICA was built upon. Only in a FREE MARKET CAPITALISM can one expect such excellence. That's what the pinheads on Pennsy Ave don't seem to connect with any…

Rheem RTE 27 Electric Tankless Water Heater, 5 GPM

I'm not sure why anyone would not be happy with this unit (if it is installed correctly) but I have to say I love it. It was one of the best investments that I ever made for my home!! We have a 2 story 3 bathroom house and it works great for us(4)can take showers 1 after another and there is always hot water. My old 30 gallon tank would have been done after 2 showers. It is not perfect, using the washer or another bathroom can throw of the temp but hey there is always hot water...

Rheem RTG-74PVN Indoor Natural Gas Tankless Water Heater for 2-3 Bathroom Homes

7 of 7 people found the following review helpful 5.0 out of 5 starsRheem tankless water heater, October 27, 2008 By Woodchuck "Peter" (Cleveland, OH) - See all my reviewsI just installed this unit for my house. 3000 sq ft with 3 full baths. I did a self installation. It was far more involved than just replacing my old water heater because its mounted on the wall requiring me to run all new gas and water lines as well as new venting to the outside. The extra work was well worth it. I performs wonderfully providing a neverending supply of steamy hot water. This thing is a godsend with a wife and 3 kids, all of whom love to take long showers. It performs exactly as advertised.

Rheem RTE 18 Electric Tankless Water Heater, 5 GPM

Had this installed last week, it's great! The water gets very hot with very good pressure. It does take a lot of power, it's 75amps. The apartment we stay at doesn't have good electrical system, so lights dim a bit. But I love the hot shower!

Rheem 22V40FN Natural Gas Water Heater Ultra Low Nox, 40 Gallon

I've had the Rheem 22V40FN since Jan 2011 and have had no problems with it whatsoever. I delivers hot water like it is supposed to (after 2 showers and a load of warm water laundry, there's still hot water) and it does not make much noise at all.

Bosch 2400ES NG AquaStar 6.4 GPM Indoor Tankless Natural Gas Water Heater

I wanted to write an honest review of this product since I couldn't find much online about on-demand hot water heaters. Our tank broke, flooding the basement, and we wanted to look into alternative ways to heat our water efficiently. We're in Boston and the tap water here is about 45 degrees. The way this works is that when you turn on the hot water in the house, the unit senses the water flow and begins to heat up a set of pipes inside. As the water passes through, it's heated to about 122 degrees. The pros:- It works normally, just like before. I turn on hot water, I get hot water.- You don't experience any standby losses of having a tank - Gas is only used when you are actually using hot water saving both money and energy.- The water is very hot in the shower. We can also use the dishwasher OR the washing machine with the shower. All three would probably not work well.- There's no footprint. You put this on the wall, and it's vented outside.- If something breaks, you replace a part rather than the entire tank, saving time and money.- If it breaks, there's no flooding!- We received rebates from both the gas company and from the federal government through a tax credit for the "green" purchase. The cons:- It costs more than a traditional tank to both purchase and install. We paid about $1000 for the unit itself, and an additional $1000 to have it installed. We had to have someone drill a new vent (both out and intake), put in stainless steel and PVC piping, and re-route…

Rinnai RL75iN Natural Gas Tankless Water Heater, 7.5 Gallons Per Minute

My gas hot water heater just died. Got quotes to replace with similar. Quotes ran from $1800 to $1250 installed. The tankless unit priced out at $2000 installed which included adding a larger gas line and tapping into electric. $300 fed tax credit, $100 from Rinnai and $150 from my nat gas company gets me to $1450. So for $200 I made the leap to tankless and should save at least that much in gas first year.First shower tonight right after install. Plenty of hot water. Can't speak to fluctuations as it was still clearing air in the lines. I gave it 4 stars only because it is too soon in ownership to award it 5 stars. More later...assuming I can update this later.Jan 23, 2012 Update:Update: It definitely takes a little longer to get hot water (30 seconds-1 minute). Of course once someone gets hot water upstairs the first time in the morning the lag time isn't really noticeable. And there is a "cold water sandwich" effect as mentioned on the Rennai site. I tend to get wet (turn water off), soap up, wash, (turn water on) and rinse. When I turn the water back on there is a short burst of cooler water. then right back to hot. This is more a function of how I shower but it is a consideration. Of course if you leave the hot water on it stays hot and you never run out. No issues with multiple showers - washing clothes - running dishwasher. It really delivers the hot water. I have a 5 person household (with 4 women). So I recommend it. Even with the slight delay I keep thinking…

Rinnai RL75iP Propane Tankless Water Heater, 7.5 Gallons Per Minute

I had a Rinnai installed a few weeks ago and its as good as the company said. In the morning a bit longer to get hot water to the shower head, but beyond that it works great. It will take some time to calculate the pay back period, but since I had an electric heater, my guess is a payback period of about 3 years. Given the avg life of 20 years for these type of units, it's well worth the initial expense.

Bosch AE115 PowerStar 2.6 GPM Indoor Whole House Electric Tankless Water Heater

I'm quite happy with this heater, except for 3 months out of the year. I live in Florida Tampa Area and figured this a warm climate, but if the temperature goes below 40 degrees the heater won't work, I have it in a carport shed, so no insulation. If I put a space heater in my shed and let it run for about an hour I'll get some hot water after leaving the faucet running for 5 min. The whole thing is very annoying to say the least. So overall I do not recommend this heater except if you live somewhere where it never gets below 50 degrees.

Bosch AE125 PowerStar 4 GPM Indoor Electric Tankless Water Heater, White

I would rate the unit at a negative 100.One of the worst items I purchased. Water would fluctuate, be too hot to stand on the lowest settings. This was installed by professionals in a new house. I got several error codes. Finally had enough and called tech support. I was on the phone 2 hours the first time I called and that was on hold. Then I spent another hour playing games with the unit.We spent over 10 hours talking to tech support over a month's period. I had to switch the unit on and off to get a bath. Tech support said the supplier told me the wrong unit to buy. Another tech support told me that that was wrong. I had to take off a lot of time to get the gas and plumbing installers to come back and check their work which was correct. Finally I had enough and called the supplier. They worked with me to get me a credit. By the way that supplier no longer sells Bosch. Just give me your money instead of buy the Bosch unit. I can hand deliver consistent and dependable hot water better than Bosch. Oh yeah and you can get a straight answer from me without the long wait. Maybe the long wait shows that there are a lot of consumers that are having the same problems.Replaced with Rinnia and it works as designed.
